    The Historic Jersey City & Harsimus Cemetery celebrated Black History yesterday during an event that honored Jersey City's African-American Civil War heroes.     St. Patrick's Day is only a few weeks away, so now is the time to start getting ready for the annual festivities. Eric Petersen, a Jersey City police officer, and Connie Zampella, a captain with the Jersey City Fire Department, drove their fire truck from the 1930s to Jersey City today from Morris County. They will decorate their truck for the parade and ride it during the Jersey City parade on March 13. The annual Jersey City St. Patrick's Day Parade will be held on March 13.

    The life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. was celebrated last night in Jersey City at an event sponsored by the Community Awareness Series, a department of the Jersey City Free Public Library.
