  Shots were fired just yards from a Jersey City police station this afternoon, a city spokeswoman said.  Jersey City police were investigating the incident on Martin Luther King Drive, just south of Communipaw Avenue and outside the West District precinct at 3 p.m. this afternoon. Jersey City spokeswoman Jennifer Morrill said the gunfire was reported just before 2 p.m. There were no victims and the investigation is ongoing, Morrill added.   BAYONNE -- A 21-year-old city man has been charged in last month's machete assault on another man, according to police. Around 1:05 a.m. on June 24, the two men agreed to meet at 500 Bayonne Crossing Way, where a Walmart is located, to "settle an argument," police previously said.
